Amadeus Sofia Granted Class A Certificate by the Ministry of Innovation and Growth
The Certificate is Granted for the Establishment of a New R&D Center as an Expansion of the Operations of Amadeus in Bulgaria
Amadeus Sofia was granted an Investor Class A Certificate by the Bulgarian Ministry of Innovation and Growth for the “Establishment of a Research & Development Center”. The certificate was handed to Amadeus Sofia General Manager Olivier Guittard by Mr. Stefan Savov, Deputy Minister of Innovation and Growth and Mr. Bogdan Bogdanov, Executive Director of the Bulgarian Investments Agency, during a special ceremony at the office of Amadeus Sofia. Amadeus Sofia is a company of Amadeus IT Group., a technology provider dedicated to the travel industry, present in over 190 countries with a global team of more than 16,000 professionals. Amadeus Sofia is one of the key Research & Development (R&D) centers of Amadeus, established two years ago.
“One of the reasons we chose Sofia for our next R&D center was the fact that Bulgaria is primed with recently graduated and experienced tech professionals who are skilled in what they do. Our colleagues in Amadeus Sofia are very well prepared with a strong academic background, they are solution-oriented and most importantly they share a passion for tech. We have big ambitions for the Sofia site. We are looking to recruit another 100+ experts with C++, Python, Java, PHP and Angular by the middle of 2023.”, said Olivier Guittard, recently appointed as General Manager and Project Director for R&D at Amadeus Sofia Labs.
This is the first time that an official ceremony for granting the certificate was held at the offices of a company. It was an opportunity for the Deputy Minister of Innovation and Growth and the Executive Director of the Bulgarian Investments Agency to meet Amadeus employees at their workplace. “I am very happy to see so many young people who made their choice to stay and work in Bulgaria. Congratulations for choosing to develop your R&D center in Bulgaria. The investment in talent development, innovation and new technologies is a priority for our country”, said Mr. Bogdan Bogdanov.
