AI for Earth – donations for improvement in agriculture, protection of waters, endangered species and decrease of climate change impact

Cloud and AI tools are available to nongovernment agencies and nonprofit organizations whose focus are global environmental issues and their solution through Microsoft’s program AI for Earth. This program gives grants with the goal to support projects which use artificial intelligence technologies in order to change the way people and organizations oversee, model and manage natural systems on the planet Earth. AI for Earth is a part of Microsoft’s AI for Good Program which provides technologies, resources and knowledge in order to encourage organizations that deal with solving the greatest social challenges such as humanitarian crises, health, accessibility, sustainability to the preservation of cultural heritage.

Microsoft’s AI for Earth Program targets four fields which are of vital significance for achieving a sustainable future:

  • Agriculture – nutrition of the growing world’s population
  • Water – conservation and protection of the water sources
  • Biodiversity – follow-up and protection of endangered animal species from extinction
  • Climate change – decrease of climate change impact on communities.

Bearing in mind that humanity is facing all the more difficult challenges such as climate changes and providing stabile water supply, nutrition of all the growing population and fast decrease in biodiversity, it is rather difficult to find solutions to these problems, because when it comes to understanding the functioning of the natural world, we are faced with the lack of information which would serve in taking concrete stopes with the aim to manage natural systems better.

AI for Earth Program provides Azure computer donations. These donations offer Azure credits amounting to 5,000, 10,000, or 15,000 US dollars, depending on the size of the project, for nonprofit organizations whose projects are directed at solving global environmental challenges

Nonprofit and nongovernment organizations whose field is solving environmental issues may apply with their projects on the website: AI for Earth Azure Compute Credit Grant Applications.
