Equinix view on the future of data centers – as shared with Bloomberg TV Bulgaria and Capital

Earlier in May Equinix Bulgaria’s Managing Director Zdravko Nikolov and Equinix’s CEO Charles Meyers had the opportunity to meet with Bulgarian journalists and talk about the latest news around the company, as well as some of the latest trends in the field of data centers and interconnection.

Zdravko spoke with Bloomberg TV Bulgaria’s Boycho Popov about the latest Global Tech Trends Survey – highlighting how, thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic and the work from home, digitization and investments in digital infrastructure have increased. And entire industries are now rethinking the way they operate. He also highlighted the huge development potential in this field in Bulgaria, how the country’s geographical position gives it a key role in digital traffic to the Middle East, and how Equinix can have a positive impact in the process.

Meanwhile Charles had a conversation with Capital about the challenges at the start of the COVID-19 outbreak in 2020 and how, thanks to digital transformation and planning the company was able to remain a source stability for its over 10,000 employees but also for all of their client base, including Zoom, Netflix and Dropbox.. Additionally, he highlighted Equinix’s role in keeping the internet going in time of great traffic surge. Charles then spoke about the importance of sustainability in all its forms and Equinix’s commitment to using green energy in all its data centers.
